Welcome to my site, my friend! My name is Emily Laniak and I am truly honored that you would take a moment out of your day to check out my business and blog.

A little about me– I was born and raised in Oceanside, California, lived in Cleveland, Tennessee for 7 years and now have been a happy resident of Bradenton, Florida for the past 5 years! I am a beach-a-holic and prefer sunsets over sunrises. If I’m being honest, I would also have to say I run on a well balanced mix of caffeine, dry shampoo and Jesus! Worship is the way I connect the deepest with my Father and fight off the attacks of the enemy! That seemed to work well for Jesus when He was tempted by the devil in the desert, so I might as well do it too!

I am certain that the Lord is guiding me through a multifaceted journey of faith and reliance on Him and Him alone.  Let me explain. I have been a chronic illness warrior for the past 8 years battling several auto-immune diseases, other medical conditions and food allergies. I pray daily in the same way that Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was to be crucified: “If it be Your will, let this pass from me.” If He heals me on this earth, great! If He doesn’t heal me until I get my resurrected body in Heaven, great!

Another chapter in my journey is relational. In 2016 I got married and in 2018 I got divorced. This is something I never in a million years thought I would write about myself (and will expand on in the future); but, as I walked that part of my journey, I learned what true reliance on my Heavenly Father actually looks like and am now thankful for His friendship and companionship in a way I never knew possible. My Heavenly Father has come through in ways I couldn’t have even imagined and brought me a peace that is genuinely beyond all understanding!

I rest assured that the Lord is not done writing my story. I believe he has called me into ministry as an author and speaker and I look forward to seeing where that leads in my future! I also have a peace that the Lord has plans to redeem my view of marriage and bless me with a Christ-following, love-filled and joyful family one day– but until that day, I plan to run as fast as I can to Jesus and introduce myself to someone who keeps up!

UPDATE: God did redeem his view of love and marriage and brought me an amazing man of God and partner for this life. I also recently left my 7am-4pm job to work full time on my business, Gulf Coast Creative, as well as get back in the writing game!
